With the announcement that Season 2 of Drag Race France is on the way, we caught up with Nicky Doll<\/a> – the hostess with the mostest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This year, Belgium is celebrating its 20th anniversary of Marriage Equality, so we’re celebrating queer relationships in all their forms. How would you describe some of your most significant relationships?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

As queer people, we really get to put relationships into perspective. For example, due to our history as marginalised people, we have to redefine the meaning of family.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A chosen family is extremely dear to our heart because for a while it has been and it is still today our strongest asset to survive.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Marriage equality is a step in the right direction, but there\u2019s still a long way to go. I am glad that, in 2023, people that love each other can be recognised as such by the government.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Do you have any dating or relationship advice that you could share?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

My mom always told me to “live happy, live hidden” – not everyone needs to know everything about your business.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Also, mutual respect and communication is very important. Learn to understand that being on your phone when your loved one is talking to you is very toxic and feels like a rejection to them. Be aware!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What’s the most romantic thing that you’ve ever done for someone?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

I left my family, friends, culture and country for a loved one – to live in his country. Not bad, right?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Drag Race France is returning for Season 2 – how will you approach this new season differently to your first season?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Season 1 cast will forever be THAT bitch. We built an empire together but, most importantly, a platform for queer art to be represented on TV and for their story to be told as individuals. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Season 2 is going to be iconic, but I definitely expect more, more, more! They had the privilege to learn from the previous cast – I expect them to come guns blazing!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
