You can listen to her exploring many topics with sharpness every week on France Inter in her \u2018<a href=\"https:\/\/www.radiofrance.fr\/franceinter\/podcasts\/la-drole-d-humeur-de-fanny-ruwet\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Dr\u00f4le d\u2019humeur<\/a>\u2019 but also in her podcast \u2018<a href=\"https:\/\/podcasts.apple.com\/be\/podcast\/les-gens-qui-doutent\/id1454941133?ls=1&amp;at=1l3vpUI&amp;app=itunes&amp;ct=LFV_aa10889fe50404ef45c10ff57b372812\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Les gens qui doutent<\/a>\u2019 where she interviews artists about their failures and struggles with humour.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Next date for \u2018Bon anniversaire Jean\u2019 in Brussels will be January 21st at <a href=\"https:\/\/theatreduvaudeville.be\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Th\u00e9\u00e2tre Vaudeville<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We\u2019ve met with Fanny to discuss her work and views on all queer things.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Tell us a bit about yourself. What has been your journey?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Even though I\u2019m only 28, it\u2019s kind of a long ride. I began on Pure (RTBF), a national music radio station while I was still studying. I think I had like 21 years old. I hosted 3 or 4 different shows for 5 years. Once I had my communication degree, I started as a PR and hated it. I had no idea what to do with my life, so I tried comedy at an open mic at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/kingsofcomedyclub\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Kings of Comedy Club<\/a>, just for fun. My set wasn\u2019t good but it wasn\u2019t that bad, so I tried a second time. Then a third. And after a year, I realized that I was paying my rent thanks to jokes, so I quit my part time job and focused on comedy. I soon had a one-hour show, that I started playing in Belgium, then in Paris. I played in <a href=\"https:\/\/montreuxcomedy.com\/fr\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Montreux Festival<\/a> in 2019 and was asked by the French number 1 radio France Inter to join their weekly team. Since then, I\u2018ve tried a lot of new stuff: acting, fiction writing, etc.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Fanny Ruwet \u2013 Je ne serais pas une bonne m\u00e8re\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/y7M7tn6ObfY?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>What are your current or future projects?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I\u2019m still on tour with my show Bon Anniversaire Jean, which I play in France, Belgium, Canada, Switzerland,\u2026 till January 2023. I\u2019ve been making jokes on France Inter for 3 years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Fanny Ruwet | Le Malaise\" width=\"640\" height=\"480\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/VDTZLZEAqik?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I wrote a short movie about unrequited love between two girls, that we will shoot this fall in Paris with Iconoclast. It\u2019s the first thing I will ever direct, I\u2019m very excited. We have a wonderful team and cast, I couldn\u2019t be prouder.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Also, I never really talked about it in an interview but since it\u2019s in English, I guess my mom won\u2019t read it: I wrote a novel that will be out in April 2023. It\u2019s about a boy I met on the Internet when I was a teenage girl, who disappeared. But between the lines, it\u2019s more about depression, grief, and trying to love yourself.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><strong>What are your queer influences?<\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">When I was a teenage girl, I used to have such a big crush on Jennifer Ayache (Superbus\u2019 singer), who\u2019s always been fuzzy about her orientation, and my favorite movie was &#8216;Imagine Me and You, starring Piper Perabo. I think it\u2019s the first time I ever saw a love story between two women.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">These days, I\u2019m more into C\u00e9line Sciamma (obviously, huge fan of Portrait of a lady on fire) and everything Ad\u00e8le Haenel does.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And I\u2019ve been fancying Coeur de Pirate my whole life. There\u2019s a show there every two weeks, hosted by my wonderful comedian friend <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/denadivah\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Dena<\/a>.
