Formed in 2016 at Berklee College of Music, India Shore and Claire Altendahl quickly bonded over their love for lo-fi textures, shoegaze guitars, and lyrics soaked in millennial melancholy.<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Nearly a decade later, they\u2019ve become one of the most promising voices of their generation, gathering more than 30 million streams and the respect of media like <em>Billboard<\/em>, <em>Uproxx<\/em>, and <em>Complex<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Boyish - Kill Your Pain (with King Princess)\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/YUFL3jzxWf0?start=2&#038;feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For <em>Boyish<\/em>, queerness isn\u2019t just an identity \u2014 it\u2019s embedded in their sound, their stories, and their community. \u201c<strong>We write about queer love, heartbreak, desire\u2026 the messy parts, but also the beauty in it,<\/strong>\u201d says India. Claire adds: \u201c<strong>When we first started, we didn\u2019t really see many artists like us, openly queer and making this kind of music. So we made the songs we wished we could hear.<\/strong>\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Their journey has been one of both intimacy and visibility. In 2021, they received the LGBTQ+ Emerging Artist Award, a recognition that placed them alongside artists like King Princess and Girl in Red. They\u2019ve since appeared on <em>Portraits of Her<\/em> (a Vans x Record Store Day compilation that also featured Taylor Swift) and collaborated with Rachel Chinouriri. On stage, they\u2019ve supported Claud, Hippo Campus, and spill tab \u2014 always bringing an atmosphere that feels part concert, part queer gathering.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And now, Brussels gets to experience it firsthand. Boyish will perform in Botanique\u2019s Rotonde \u2014 an intimate setting perfect for their dreamy soundscapes and raw lyricism. Expect an evening of slow-burning shoegaze pop, lo-fi grooves, and songs that feel like reading someone\u2019s diary under neon light.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201c<strong>We want our shows to feel safe,<\/strong>\u201d India insists. \u201c<strong>A space where everyone can show up as themselves. Queer joy is political in itself \u2014 especially in music scenes that have historically excluded us.<\/strong>\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As they prepare to release their next album in 2025, their Brussels date marks the beginning of a new chapter: a full European tour where the duo finally takes center stage. For fans of Blondshell, NoSo, or The Japanese House, this is one not to miss.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Boyish remind us that queerness isn\u2019t only about resilience \u2014 it\u2019s also about creating worlds where tenderness and vulnerability have space to breathe.
