\u201cThe shoe must go on!\u201d<\/em> \u2014 This November, Brussels audiences will finally get to experience the glitter, humor, and humanity of Kinky Boots<\/strong>, the hit Broadway and West End musical inspired by a true story.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

From November 21 to 29, 2025<\/strong>, the show returns to the stage in a brand-new French adaptation<\/strong>, produced by the same creative team behind La Chaperonne \u00c9m\u00e9ch\u00e9e<\/em> (2018)<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

From a Failing Factory to Fabulous Reinvention<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Kinky Boots<\/em> tells the unlikely story of Charlie<\/strong>, a young man suddenly in charge of his family\u2019s struggling shoe factory, and Lola<\/strong>, a dazzling and self-confident drag performer. Though they come from very different worlds, the two join forces to create a new line of high-heeled boots for a unique clientele\u2014discovering along the way that they may not be so different after all.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The show celebrates acceptance, courage, and the freedom to be oneself, wrapped in infectious pop melodies and exuberant dance numbers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A Dream Team Behind the Curtain<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

With music and lyrics by pop icon Cyndi Lauper<\/strong>\u2014whose 1980s hits like Girls Just Want to Have Fun<\/em> defined a generation\u2014and a book by Broadway legend Harvey Fierstein<\/strong>, Kinky Boots<\/em> brings together two luminaries of American stage and music.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The original Broadway production, directed and choreographed by Jerry Mitchell<\/strong>, premiered at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre<\/strong> on April 4, 2013, running for over 2,500 performances<\/strong> until April 7, 2019. It earned 13 Tony Award nominations<\/strong> and won 6<\/strong>, including Best Musical<\/em> and Best Score<\/em>, making Lauper the first woman ever to win the category solo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Across the Atlantic, the West End<\/strong> version ran from August 2015 to January 2019<\/strong>, collecting three Laurence Olivier Awards<\/strong> in 2016, including Best New Musical<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Belgian Adaptation<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

This French-language production is the work of\u00a0Antoine Delhaye<\/strong>,\u00a0Guillaume Possoz<\/strong>, and\u00a0Thibaut Radomme<\/strong>, who tr<\/a>anslated the show and lead the Brussels staging as producers and directors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
