De beurs presenteert niet langer simpelweg kunst; ze geeft vorm aan hoe we bewegen, voelen en ons verhouden tot beelden, geschiedenissen en elkaar. Met minder galeries en een scherpere focus geeft deze 42e editie voorrang aan ervaring boven accumulatie. Onder deze structuur ontvouwt zich iets stillers. Haar werk is gelaagd, autobiografisch en getekend door het diasporische geheugen. Het weigert neutraliteit. Galeries zoals Keteleer, Lehmann en Reservoir introduceren kunstenaars wiens praktijken nog in ontwikkeling zijn, minder vastomlijnd, meer poreus. Hun werken draaien vaak om identiteit, fragmentatie en circulatie. Het is conceptueel. Stabiliteit ontmoet mutatie. Glitters en ambacht doorbreken hi\u00ebrarchie\u00ebn tussen het triviale en het serieuze. Verspreid over de beurs verschijnen lichamen als onstabiel, oplossend en hervormend, weerstand biedend aan vaste representatie. Verlangen circuleert zonder zich te vestigen, nooit volledig gevangen.   <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In de Horizons-sectie wordt monumentaliteit ongedaan gemaakt. Grootschalige werken bevestigen niet langer autoriteit, maar stellen deze ter discussie. Opblaasbare structuren en immersieve installaties destabiliseren klassieke symbolen van macht en maken van de kijker een actieve deelnemer. Ruimte wordt iets waarover onderhandeld wordt, in plaats van iets dat vaststaat.   <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Dit bewustzijn strekt zich uit over de hele beurs. Installaties zoals \u00c9tats d\u2019espace van Bertrand Cavalier plaatsen het lichaam tussen openheid en beperking, en onthullen hoe omgevingen perceptie en gedrag vormen. <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Zelfs de marktlogica verschuift. Projecten zoals Not Everything is for Sale stellen verbondenheid boven transactie, terwijl de KickCancer Collection anonimiteit en vertrouwen introduceert. Waarde wordt emotioneel, relationeel, onstabiel.  <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Wat naar voren komt is geen duidelijk gedefinieerd narratief, maar een manier van lezen. In zachtheid die als verzet wordt gebruikt, in onstabiele lichamen, in structuren die permanentie weigeren, in betekenissen die open blijven. <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Art Brussels 2026 spreekt zich niet expliciet uit. Het vraagt om tussen de regels door gelezen te worden. <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Net als Brussel zelf blijft de beurs gelaagd en onopgelost. Als je goed oplet, verschijnt er iets anders.
