If you\u2019re looking for a Pride\u2011season space that is as much about&nbsp;<strong>listening and creating<\/strong>&nbsp;as it is about partying, this is it.<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.expressionsmixtes.com\/\"><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"a-festival-rooted-in-queer-diasporic-brussels\">A festival rooted in queer, diasporic Brussels<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Expressions Mixtes was initially built around three films,&nbsp;<em>Expressions Mixtes 1, 2 and 3<\/em>, which explored the lives of LGBTQIA+ people from different backgrounds living in Belgium. With the support of figures like&nbsp;<strong>Hassan Jarfi<\/strong>&nbsp;and lawyer&nbsp;<strong>Alice Nkom<\/strong>, those documentaries were widely used in educational and professional settings to talk about racism, homophobia, transphobia and the overlapping realities of migration and queerness.<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.expressionsmixtes.com\/\"><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">From there, the organisers decided to&nbsp;<strong>push the concept off the screen and into real life<\/strong>.
