On the windswept beach of Zeebrugge, a new kind of summer ritual returns. WECANDANCE 2025 isn’t just another festival — it’s a space where sound, style, and self-expression collide. With this year’s theme “Denim Dancers” the message is clear: come as you are, move how you love, and don’t hold back.

With more than 95 acts across six stages — including a bold new nightclub-inspired space, The Dune — the lineup reflects a global shift toward genre fluidity and greater queer visibility on the dancefloor.

Black Coffee, Honey Dijon & a Friday Night to Remember

Friday night is already shaping up to be iconic. South African Afro-house master Black Coffee headlines with his only Belgian show of the year. “Music is healing, music is love, music is life,” he says. “In all that I do, I want to translate a message of love to people all over the entire world".

Before him? The incomparable Honey Dijon — one of the most influential queer DJs on the planet. Blending house, techno, disco and soul, Honey’s sets are pure euphoria: rooted in Black and queer musical traditions, and delivered with style, edge, and undeniable presence.
Also on the bill that day: Major League DJz, disco.seck, Miss Bashfulet House of Donna — bringing vibrant, genre-bending energy to a night of dancefloor liberation.

Queer Visibility at the Forefront
WECANDANCE 2025 makes space for the LGBTQIA+ community in real, visible ways. From who’s on the lineup to who’s dancing up front, this is a festival that doesn’t just tolerate difference — it thrives on it.
This year’s program includes:
- HAAi b2b Young Marco — an explosive meeting of two experimental favorites with strong queer followings.
- Kittyamor, Clara Cuvé, Nova.musicet D.B.B.D_ — all contributing to a scene where diversity isn’t a trend, but a pulse.
- Amigo, curating The Dune stage, known for its dark intimacy and dazzling, late-night energy.

Whether on the main stage or in the margins, queer artistry here feels woven into the DNA — not added on, but essential.
Roísín Murphy: Avant-Pop, Disco Royalty

On Sunday August 17, get ready for Roísín Murphy, taking over Zeebrugge Beach with a set that promises pure class, deep grooves, and high drama.
De Moloko‘s cult anthem “Sing It Back” to a solo career that’s redefined the boundaries of dance, performance, and fashion, Murphy is a queer icon through and through. With appearances at Glastonbury, Coachella, Primavera and Dekmantel under her belt, her theatrical, electrifying presence is set to make WECANDANCE unforgettable. Expect goosebumps. And glitter. Lots of glitter.

Come for the Music, Stay for the Freedom
Beyond the soundscapes, WECANDANCE offers a full sensory escape — from its artfully designed food market and immersive installations to a crowd that’s stylish, expressive, and increasingly queer-aware. Denim may be the theme, but authenticity is the look.

And with late-night trains connecting Zeebrugge to Brussels, Antwerp, Ghent and Bruges, you can dance deep into the night and still make it home with sand in your shoes and a beat in your bones.
