Olly Wins Sanremo 2025, Heading to Eurovision as Italy’s Representative

Queer Eurovision fans, rejoice! Italy has crowned its new musical champion, and he’s on his way to the biggest song contest in Europe. Olly, the 23-year-old Italian singer, has emerged victorious at the 75th edition of the Sanremo Music Festival with his song Balorda Nostalgia, securing his ticket to Eurovision 2025 in Basel.

Born Federico Olivieri in Genoa in 2001, Olly’s win is a defining moment in his rising career. He beat out strong competition, with Lucio Corsi finishing second, followed by Brunori Sas in third place, Fedez in fourth, and Simone Cristicchi in fifth. This year’s festival, featuring 29 acts, was hosted by the legendary broadcaster Carlo Conti.
