This year, the prize was presided over by acclaimed French filmmaker Christophe Honor\u00e9, a prominent voice in queer storytelling and a regular at Cannes.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>What is the Queer Palm?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.fugues.com\/2025\/05\/14\/les-films-qui-peuvent-pretendre-a-la-queer-palme-a-cannes-cette-annee\/\">Founded in 2010 by critic Franck Finance-Madureira, the Queer Palm recognizes films across all Cannes selections\u2014Official Competition<\/a>, Un Certain Regard, Directors\u2019 Fortnight, Critics\u2019 Week, and ACID\u2014that explore LGBTQIA+ themes, challenge gender norms, or offer feminist perspectives.\u00a0With its inclusive approach, the award has become a key reference for queer representation in cinema, alongside <a href=\"https:\/\/teddyaward.tv\/en\/teddy\/\">Berlin\u2019s Teddy Award<\/a> en <a href=\"https:\/\/www.queerlion.it\/en\/\">Venice\u2019s Queer Lion<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>A Milestone Year: 2025 Edition<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This anniversary edition was marked by a diverse and international jury, led by Christophe Honor\u00e9. like\u00a0<em>Portret van een dame in brand<\/em>\u00a0(C\u00e9line Sciamma),\u00a0<em>120 BPM<\/em>\u00a0(Robin Campillo), and\u00a0<em>Laurence Anyways<\/em>\u00a0(Xavier Dolan).\u00a0The prize not only celebrates artistic achievement but also provides visibility and support for stories and filmmakers often marginalized in mainstream cinema.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Honor\u00e9 and the jury noted that while queer cinema today often seeks broader audiences and sometimes plays it safe stylistically, the need for bold, authentic queer narratives remains urgent, especially as global attitudes toward LGBTQIA+ rights fluctuate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>A Platform for New Voices<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Queer Palm also runs a Lab to mentor emerging queer filmmakers, helping them develop projects and connect with industry professionals.\u00a0This initiative reflects
