It demonstrates how making free and unlimited editions of works can break the grip of economics on creativity, allowing art to circulate more freely and become a true part of daily experience.<a href=\"https:\/\/edcat.net\/item\/a4xx\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"the-philosophy-behind-the-project\">The Philosophy Behind the Project<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A4xX is founded on the belief that the less it costs to produce a work of art, the less that economics and profit can dominate its value. Paradoxically, we often devalue what is offered for free, but this project seeks to overturn those assumptions and renew the social power of art by making it available and participatory for all. The structure of the project is as simple and democratic as possible: artists, critics, writers, philosophers, designers, and architects, of all backgrounds and genders, produce works themed around \u201cart: free of charge.\u201d These works are all in black and white on sheets of A4 paper, easily photocopied and distributed in reams\u2014fragmentary and postmodern in spirit. Visitors and participants are invited to join, take part, and exchange freely; anyone can become an active agent of creation and distribution.
