L\u2019art belge et l\u2019utopie communiste au XXe si\u00e8cle<\/a><\/strong>, une exposition qui retrace pr\u00e8s d\u2019un si\u00e8cle de cr\u00e9ation artistique belge en lien avec le mouvement communiste. Structur\u00e9e comme un parcours \u00e0 la fois chronologique et th\u00e9matique, l\u2019exposition met en lumi\u00e8re la diversit\u00e9 des formes, des engagements et des tensions qui ont fa\u00e7onn\u00e9 l\u2019art belge tout au long du XXe si\u00e8cle. <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Sous le commissariat de <strong>Paul Aron<\/strong>, docteur en philosophie et lettres, directeur de recherches honoraire au FNRS et professeur \u00e0 l\u2019ULB, l\u2019exposition rassemble des \u0153uvres de <strong>Frans Masereel, Ren\u00e9 Magritte, Kurt Peiser, Guillaume Vanden Borre, Roger Somville, Jan Vanriet, Marthe Velle, Jo Dustin<\/strong> et bien d\u2019autres. Elle accorde \u00e9galement une place majeure \u00e0 <strong>Frans Masereel<\/strong>, dont les gravures et dessins, largement diffus\u00e9s dans la presse progressiste, r\u00e9v\u00e8lent une pratique artistique profond\u00e9ment li\u00e9e aux luttes antifascistes et sociales. Plus largement, l\u2019exposition examine comment les images ont \u00e9t\u00e9 utilis\u00e9es \u00e0 des fins de propagande \u00e0 travers des dessins, des affiches et des caricatures publi\u00e9s dans les journaux communistes, o\u00f9 l\u2019art est devenu \u00e0 la fois un outil de mobilisation et un vecteur d\u2019id\u00e9es.  <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Ce qui rend l\u2019exposition particuli\u00e8rement captivante, c\u2019est qu\u2019elle ne s\u2019arr\u00eate pas \u00e0 l\u2019art ouvertement militant. Le <strong>r\u00e9alisme<\/strong>, la peinture monumentale, l\u2019art mural et les repr\u00e9sentations de la vie ouvri\u00e8re sont mis en dialogue avec des pratiques surr\u00e9alistes et non figuratives, ainsi qu\u2019avec des \u0153uvres plus intimes fa\u00e7onn\u00e9es par l\u2019ironie, la m\u00e9lancolie ou l\u2019imagerie onirique. Certains artistes visaient \u00e0 mettre l\u2019art au service d\u2019un id\u00e9al collectif, tandis que d\u2019autres r\u00e9sistaient aux cadres id\u00e9ologiques \u2014 notamment autour de l\u2019abstraction et des tensions politiques qui s\u2019\u00e9tendaient des grands conflits sociaux des ann\u00e9es 1960 \u00e0 la chute du mur de Berlin.
