The company is using the moment to reaffirm its commitment to&nbsp;<strong>inclusion, diversity and respect<\/strong>, not just in words but with a series of visible actions across the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It\u2019s the kind of initiative that matters in a Pride season where public space is contested more than ever. For 2026, SNCB is sending out a version with a&nbsp;<strong>new livery in the colours of diversity<\/strong>, freshly wrapped in its Mechelen workshop. The idea is simple and effective: a train that doesn\u2019t just carry passengers, but also carries a message every time it pulls into a station or crosses the landscape.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For queer travellers \u2013 and for everyone who likes their rolling stock a little camp \u2013 spotting the Trainbow on a platform or from a station caf\u00e9 is a small but real joy. It says: you exist in this network, you are not an afterthought.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"675\" height=\"561\" src=\"https:\/\/ket.brussels\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/Capture-decran-2026-05-13-152906.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-52646\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ket.brussels\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/Capture-decran-2026-05-13-152906.jpg 675w, https:\/\/ket.brussels\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/Capture-decran-2026-05-13-152906-300x249.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 675px) 100vw, 675px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"stations-lighting-up-for-pride\">Stations lighting up for Pride<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Beyond the Trainbow, SNCB is also queering up several stations for Pride Week and IDAHOBIT:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Bruxelles\u2011Central \/ Brussel\u2011Centraal<\/strong>\u00a0en\u00a0<strong>Tournai \/ Doornik<\/strong>\u00a0are being\u00a0<strong>illuminated in rainbow colours<\/strong>, turning key mobility hubs into visible Pride landmarks.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Rainbow flags<\/strong>\u00a0are being flown in a number of stations across the country, making diversity literally part of the daily commute.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In the capital,&nbsp;<strong>Bruxelles\u2011Central<\/strong>&nbsp;also becomes a&nbsp;<strong>\u201cChange Station\u201d<\/strong>&nbsp;on Pride Saturday: a welcoming point for Pride participants, with a focus on hospitality and visibility right where many people arrive and leave for the festivities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"more-than-symbols-thats-the-real-challenge\">More than symbols? That\u2019s the real challenge<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In its message, SNCB insists that \u201cthe train connects cities, but above all it connects people,\u201d and that connecting people in a climate of&nbsp;<strong>trust, respect and safety<\/strong>&nbsp;is essential \u2013 for both passengers and staff. The ambition is to make SNCB an environment where&nbsp;<strong>everyone can be themselves, freely<\/strong>, and where diversity is recognised as a strength that \u201cmoves us forward every day.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For Ket\u2019s readers, that kind of statement is welcome, especially in a context where queer people still face harassment on public transport and where visibility can be a risk. Pride trains, rainbow lights and flags are not the end point; they\u2019re a&nbsp;<strong>starting point<\/strong>. What comes next is:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>concrete measures against harassment and hate incidents in trains and stations<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>inclusive HR policies that protect and value LGBTQIA+ staff<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>ongoing collaboration with community groups like\u00a0<strong>Trainbow Belgium<\/strong>, the internal network of LGBTQIA+ employees and allies that keeps pushing from within.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">When big institutions step up during Pride Week, they also open themselves up to being held accountable the rest of the year.
