On 15 May, Brussels turns technicolor as Les Sous-Entendu·e·s brings two bold, brilliant short films by French director Alexis Langlois to Kinograph for a night of queer cinema like no other.
First up: De la terreur, mes sœurs. For Kalthoum and her trans girlfriends, it’s a day like any other — cocktails, dating apps, and the daily drip of transphobia. But today, they’ve had enough. Between cosmos and chardonnay, they start imagining their revenge…
Then comes Les démons de Dorothy, where a slightly chaotic queer filmmaker is told to stop making camp comedies and “get serious.” Instead, she escapes into her favourite fantasy series, only to be haunted by her own demons — in glitter, of course.
Langlois’ work is outrageous, emotional, and defiantly queer — a celebration of identity, sisterhood, and storytelling without compromise. And this screening is more than just a movie night. It’s about community, creativity, and carving out space where FINTA (Femmes, Intersex, Non-binary, Trans, Agender) people can see themselves on screen — loud, messy, and magnificent.
The evening continues with a post-screening discussion on queer and feminist representation in cinema, hosted by Les Sous-Entendu·e·s, a collective committed to accessible, intersectional cultural spaces.
