RainbowAmbassadors – Brussels is a dedicated group of volunteers committed to promoting inclusive policies for LGBTQI+ seniors in both professional and informal care settings. Their mission is clear: to ensure that aging LGBTQI+ individuals are seen, respected, and given a safe environment to live in dignity.

This organization actively supports care organizations, caregiving teams, and seniors who strive for LGBTQI+-friendly policies in eldercare. By raising awareness and providing information sessions for students—tomorrow’s healthcare professionals—they work to build a more inclusive, compassionate system.
Objectives of RainbowAmbassadors – Brussels:
- Ensure a positive future for LGBTQI+ seniors, a group often overlooked in society.
- Increase visibility of LGBTQI+ elders and improve their well-being.
- Raise awareness in the eldercare sector about their specific needs and encourage openness to diversity.
- Develop and expand a network of RainbowAmbassadors—volunteers who reach out annually to senior institutions across Brussels and the surrounding areas to offer support and resources.
- Organize monthly meetings where volunteers help craft policies and actions to further this mission.
RainbowAmbassadors – Brussels is part of a broader national association. Their network continues to grow, and they are always looking for more volunteers who want to contribute to making eldercare more inclusive and supportive for LGBTQI+ individuals.
