Brussels Art Guide 2026: Mapping a Vibrant Contemporary Scene

Brussels is once again putting its contemporary art scene in the spotlight with the new edition of the Brussels Art Guide 2026, published by the Fondation pour les Arts. This biennial pocket guide offers a clear, up-to-date overview of a landscape shaped by artists, galleries, art centers, independent spaces, schools, and newly opened venues across the city.

For the 2026 edition, culture journalist Sarah Schug signs the portraits of ten young Brussels-based artists, which open the guide and capture the diversity of today’s artistic practices in the capital. The selected artists are Antoinette d’Ansembourg, Nicolas Bourthoumieux, Charlotte vander Borght, Laurie Charles, Eloïse Lega Breyssens, Ethel Lilienfeld, Angyvir Padilla, Anna Safiatou Touré, Mostafa Saifi Rahmouni and Philémon Siesling.

The publication then brings together 40 significant venues, including galleries, art centers, museums and independent spaces that structure Brussels’s contemporary art ecosystem. For the first time, art schools are also featured, alongside private projects and specialized bookshops, underlining how education, experimentation and distribution intersect in the city.

At the back of the guide, readers will find a practical agenda of art fairs and major annual events, making it easier to plan visits and keep track of the key moments in the Brussels art calendar. Several detailed maps complete the volume, helping users to easily locate the main galleries and institutions while exploring different neighbourhoods.

Thoughtfully documented and illustrated, the Brussels Art Guide 2026 positions itself as a handy reference for art lovers, professionals, and curious visitors who want to understand, navigate or rediscover Brussels’s contemporary art scene. Priced at 15 EUR and published in English, the guide will be available in bookstores from 6 December 2025 and is edited in Brussels by the Fondation pour les Arts.
