From 3 to 7 March 2026, Studio Varia in Ixelles hosts Chauv·e, a sharp, tender and irreverent drag stand-up by Massie Mucedda aka Blanket la Goulue, one of Brussels’ most exciting queer performers. Emerging from “the margins of the margins”, Blanket steps out of the shadows of cabaret to unpack their life story with humour, anger and a lot of heart.
Born under the pen of Massie Mucedda – a former chef turned full-time multidisciplinary artist – Blanket looks back on a journey as a teen “bald before knowing they were gay”, forever trying to escape rigid boxes of gender and binary norms. On stage, Blanket hijacks iconic French pop songs, from France Gall to Michel Berger, to narrate a messy, moving path to selfhood through heartbreak, rejection and resilience. Laughter becomes a survival tool, a way to confront everyday violence while turning vulnerability into a collective weapon.

Chauv·e doesn’t only take aim at patriarchy and heteronormativity; it also casts a lucid eye on the LGBTQIA+ community itself, questioning radical postures, cancel culture and the contradictions that run through queer spaces. With disarming honesty and razor-sharp wit, Massie signs a solo that breaks the fourth wall, mixes generations and invites the audience to imagine new collective conspiracies to get through the present without leaving anyone behind. Expect 1h25 of drag, stand-up and musical comedy where the grotesque becomes political, and where community care feels as important as the punchlines.
