Rainbow Cops Belgium LGBT Police is a non-profit association composed of police officers and civil staff from the Belgian Integrated Police, united by their concern for or identification with LGBT issues. The group is proud to promote awareness, training, and support both within law enforcement and the broader community, advancing mutual respect and rights for LGBTQIA+ individuals.
Mission and Activities
Rainbow Cops Belgium focuses on four key missions:
- Training police officers to recognize discrimination or hate-motivated crimes based on sexual orientation or gender identity, ensuring fair and equal protection for all.
- Sharing information and experiences about LGBT matters within police networks to foster respect and inclusivity.
- Raising awareness about LGBT issues in police circles and beyond, drawing on experience at national and European levels.
- Supporting victims of homophobic or transphobic acts by guiding them towards specialized services, both within and outside the police system, to facilitate reporting and assistance.
The association’s work is crucial for bridging gaps between law enforcement and the LGBTQIA+ community, contributing to safer, more respectful public spaces.

Community and European Engagement
As a member of the European LGBT Police Association (EGPA), Rainbow Cops Belgium participates in cross-border dialogues and projects, ensuring Belgian expertise and experiences help shape best practices throughout Europe.
