This year’s Brussels Pride theme is “Unite, Time to Protect Our Rights”. The theme emerged from discussions with over 30 LGBTQIA+ associations and activists. We asked: Where do we stand
politically and socially? The answer was clear: unity. Our communities face diverse challenges—health disparities, identity erasure, and rising global backlash.

This theme is both a shield and a bridge, inviting everyone, from queer individuals to allies, to rally
around shared values: freedom, safety, and dignity. Brussels Pride was recently added to Brussels’ intangible cultural heritage of the Brussels region. It’s a landmark. We’re among the fi rst Pride events globally to receive such recognition. It’s not just about preservation—it’s about legacy. Pride isn’t temporary; it’s a living tradition of protest and celebration. This status empowers associations to innovate in advocacy, whether through art, slam
poetry, or performances that challenge norms.
Advocacy isn’t just petitions—it’s culture. Think of drag artists reclaiming public space or queer collectives
hosting techno nights that double as safe havens. Our heritage listing amplifi es these creative acts, showing how resistance can be joyful, loud, and unapologetically
Brussels.

The Brussels Pride date coinciding with International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia and Transphobia
(IDAHOBIT).. This isn’t just a parade; it’s a global statement. On IDAHOBIT, we’ll march where the EU’s
decisions are made, demanding action against anti-LGBTQIA+ laws worldwide. Brussels Pride isn’t just our
heritage—it’s a blueprint for solidarity.
Pride is a verb. To those questioning their place: you’re why we fi ght. Join us—in the streets, in culture, in every act of unity. Together, we’ll protect what matters
