Welkom, Bienvenue Chez Maman ce samedi soir. For 25 years, Brussels drag icon Maman welcomed queer people in her famous cabaret. She announced today that she is retiring from the scene and leaving the show to her girls.
Serge Morel had already said that he was going to stop performing in 2022. With the COVID crisis and the closing of all cultural and nightlife venues, the decision came earlier and it is time for Maman to leave Belgium and go enjoy life with her husband in the southwest of France.
But no worries, the future is assured since she is the drag mother for so many Brussels drag queens. We wish her all the joy in her further projects and we thank her for all those years of happiness, glitter and songs !
