Jakub Jankto, revealed his homosexuality in a video published on Monday on the social network Twitter. The Czech international is one of the first footballers to come out while still in the middle of his career. What shouldn’t be a non-event to relay in our media necessarily becomes one, so rare is it in the world of professional football. Czech international 45 times, with a last appearance in the jersey of the selection dating back to June 2022, Jakub Jankto played all the matches of Euro 2021.
Jakub Jankto, 27, currently plays at Sparta Prague. His video was posted on a Twitter account created especially for the occasion.
He simply declares, with strength and courage: “Like everyone else, I have my strengths, I have my weaknesses, I have a family, I have friends, I have a job that I exercise in best of my abilities for years, with seriousness, professionalism and passion. Like everyone else. I also want to live my life in complete freedom. Without fear. Without prejudice. Without violence. BUT with love. I am homosexual and I do not want no more hiding”.
