For Brussels Pride 2025, Jeanneke-Pis isn’t just making a statement — she’s owning the moment. The iconic statue just got a fabulous new hat designed by none other than Belgian milliner Elvis Pompilio, and thanks to a joyful photoshoot completed this week, we now have the visuals to prove it.

Installed just in time for Pride, the custom headpiece is a flamboyant tribute to queer expression, crafted with Pompilio’s signature blend of elegance and irreverence. “It’s about presence,” the designer explains. “It’s about saying: ‘I’m here, and I’m worth celebrating.’”
Jeanneke — cheeky, bold, and utterly unapologetic — has long embodied Brussels’ rebellious spirit. Perched in the Impasse de la Fidélité since the 1980s, she’s now stepping into the spotlight as an unexpected queer icon.

“We just finished installing everything, and we’re super happy with the result,” shared Janneke’s team. The WeTransfer photos show her gleaming proudly, topped with a sculptural hat that brings out both her playful charm and powerful attitude.

The official unveiling took place today, May 16 at 11 AM, right at her spot. Come see how a statue becomes a style icon — and raise a glass to creativity, queerness, and the city that dares to dress up.
