Belgium’s Eurovision Song Contest 2024 participant, Mustii, has unveiled the vibrant and collaborative music video for his entry, ‘Before the Party’s Over,’ a song that transcends borders. The release not only marks a significant moment for the artist but also emphasizes the Eurovision Song Contest’s enduring theme of unity through music. The song immediately climbed to 7th place in the bookmakers’ predictions.
The song, a collaboration with Pierre Dumoulin and Ben Leclercq, stands out for its unique approach. More than a thousand anonymous voices responded to an online call, coming together to create the powerful final chorus. The collaborative effort beautifully encapsulates the Eurovision ethos – ‘United by Music.’
Mustii, also known as actor and singer Thomas Mustin, shared the inspiration behind the song, drawing from Chekhov’s Three Sisters to articulate its essence. “I wanted this song to be an optimistic, euphoric surge. A gradual journey from the intimate to the final outburst (in both form and content),” he explained. The lyrics encourage living life to the fullest, embracing intensity, experimentation, and breaking free from comfort zones. Mustii poetically draws parallels between a night of revelry and the journey of life, emphasizing the importance of fully embracing oneself before the inevitable end.
To celebrate the release of the music video, Mustii has announced a series of unofficial pre-Eurovision parties across Europe. These events will provide fans with a sneak peek into the magic that Mustii promises to bring to the Eurovision stage. The tour kicks off on Saturday, April 6, with Eurovision in Concert in Barcelona, followed by Eurovision Party in London on Sunday, April 7, Eurovision in Concert in Amsterdam on Saturday, April 13, and concluding with Nordic Eurovision Party in Stockholm on Sunday, April 14.
Additionally, mark your calendars for Mustii’s biggest indoor show yet on the 25th of April in Brussels. This event promises an unforgettable experience. Mustii is set to create musical history, showcasing the power of his artistry and the collective energy of his audience. Don’t miss the ticket sale starting today.
The artist known for his roles in theater, television, and films, has emerged not only as an actor but also as a captivating singer. With two successful albums, ’21st Century Boy’ and ‘It’s Happening Now,’ and numerous accolades, including the ‘Revelation of the Year’ trophy at the D6bels Music Awards, Mustii’s talent resonates with audiences, captivating them with his powerful yet fragile voice.
As 2024 unfolds, Mustii’s schedule promises to be one of his busiest yet. Apart from representing Belgium at the Eurovision Song Contest in Sweden, he is set to return as a permanent judge on Drag Race Belgique (Season 2) and will star in Michiel Blanchart’s upcoming movie, ‘La nuit se traîne,’ alongside Romain Duris.
Save the dates, as the Eurovision Song Contest takes place in Malmö, Sweden, on Tuesday, May 7 (First Semi-Final), Thursday, May 9 (Second Semi-Final), and Saturday, May 11 (Grand Final) in 2024. Mustii’s ‘Before the Party’s Over’ is not just a song; it’s an anthem that brings people together, celebrating the diversity and unity within the LGBTQIA+ community and beyond.
