Elon Musk has always had a god complex. Sending rockets to Mars, implanting chips in brains, and now, according to his estranged daughter Vivian Jenna Wilson, deciding the gender of his own children like he’s ordering parts for a new Tesla model.

In a scathing post on Threads, Vivian accused Musk of using sex-selective IVF to ensure he had sons, writing: “My assigned sex at birth was a commodity that was bought and paid for.” She added, “That expectation of masculinity that I had to rebel against all my life was a monetary transaction. A MONETARY TRANSACTION. How the fuck is this legal?“
Let’s pause on that: Elon Musk, who loves to rant about ‘woke culture’ ruining everything, allegedly hand-picked the sex of his kids—and yet, somehow, the problem is always us queer folks?
A Family Engineered for Masculinity?
Musk has 14 confirmed children, a number he flaunts as proof of his commitment to saving civilization from declining birth rates. But what’s less discussed is how the majority of those kids were born male through IVF.
His first six children with ex-wife Justine Wilson? Five via IVF, all assigned male at birth. His children with Neuralink executive Shivon Zilis? IVF again. Even his daughter with Grimes, Exa Dark Sideræl, was born via surrogate.
And yet, Musk and Vivian are completely estranged. She has openly accused him of being absent, cold, and hostile toward her transition. For a man obsessed with the future, he seems incapable of accepting the one right in front of him: a queer, independent daughter who refuses to fit into his grand design.

Daddy Issues, but Make It Billionaire-Sized
This is the same Elon Musk who cut fertility and adoption benefits at X , while allegedly joking about having a “legion of kids to make.” The same Musk who constantly rails against “woke culture,” but now stands accused of literally selecting his children’s sex to fit his vision of masculinity.
It’s giving eugenics meets Reddit tech bro.
This story is ridiculous, but it’s also part of a larger pattern: powerful men trying to control gender, whether through politics, corporate culture, or, apparently, their own offspring. Musk can buy his way into space, but he can’t buy control over what his children become. And, judging by how hard he’s tried, that might be his greatest fear.
