Looking for a festival that’s more than just a party? Mark your calendar for June 28th and head to ExtraCity, Antwerp for the Qommunity Festival—a one-day queer gathering that’s all about joy, collective care, and political empowerment.
What’s Qommunity Festival All About?

Qommunity Festival isn’t your average pride event. It’s a vibrant, inclusive space designed for LGBTQIA+ people and allies, especially those with migration backgrounds. Expect a day packed with everything from grief circles (for sharing and healing), pole jams, and drag shows to sex-positive workshops, self-defense classes, and a sweaty dancefloor where you can let loose. It’s a mix of fun, rest, and resistance—because being queer is about celebrating life, but also about fighting for our rights and caring for each other.
Who’s Behind It? Meet Queers on the Move
The festival is organized by Queers on the Move (QOM), a grassroots collective born in 2020. QOM was created by and for LGBTQIA+ people seeking international protection in Belgium—folks who often face not just homophobia and transphobia, but also racism and xenophobia within migration systems. The group started as a response to the lack of support for queer migrants and refugees, especially in the face of Belgium’s often rigid, hetero-cisnormative, and white-dominated institutions.
QOM is all about building solidarity, resilience, and real community. They run cultural events, arts workshops, and political education sessions, giving queer people from migration backgrounds a chance to connect, heal, and organize. Whether you’re looking for support or want to get involved, QOM is a space where you belong.
