Brussels will shine a little brighter this winter as the Jewish Museum of Belgium hosts HanuQueer, a welcoming and inclusive Hanukkah celebration that bridges Jewish tradition and LGBTQIA+ pride. The event, organized in collaboration with the Mazal Pride association, will take place on Wednesday, December 17, 2025, from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m.
Open to everyone—Jewish community members, allies, families, friends, and anyone curious—HanuQueer promises an evening of dialogue, music, and holiday joy. The program includes a talk and discussion with Élise Goldfarb, followed by the lighting of the Hanukkah candles, a symbolic and communal highlight of the night.

Guests will be able to savor traditional Hanukkah treats such as latkes and sufganiyot, explore a mini-exhibition featuring Hanukkah-related objects from the museum’s collections, and join in singing traditional songs, culminating in a collective musical moment that celebrates togetherness.
The event reflects a shared commitment to openness, cultural exchange, and pride—values at the heart of both the Jewish Museum of Belgium and Mazal Pride’s mission.
