A Bold and Heartfelt Story Steps onto the Brussels Stage

“The shoe must go on!” — This November, Brussels audiences will finally get to experience the glitter, humor, and humanity of Kinky Boots, the hit Broadway and West End musical inspired by a true story.

From November 21 to 29, 2025, the show returns to the stage in a brand-new French adaptation, produced by the same creative team behind La Chaperonne Éméchée (2018).

From a Failing Factory to Fabulous Reinvention

Kinky Boots tells the unlikely story of Charlie, a young man suddenly in charge of his family’s struggling shoe factory, and Lola, a dazzling and self-confident drag performer. Though they come from very different worlds, the two join forces to create a new line of high-heeled boots for a unique clientele—discovering along the way that they may not be so different after all.

The show celebrates acceptance, courage, and the freedom to be oneself, wrapped in infectious pop melodies and exuberant dance numbers.

A Dream Team Behind the Curtain

With music and lyrics by pop icon Cyndi Lauper—whose 1980s hits like Girls Just Want to Have Fun defined a generation—and a book by Broadway legend Harvey FiersteinKinky Boots brings together two luminaries of American stage and music.

The original Broadway production, directed and choreographed by Jerry Mitchell, premiered at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre on April 4, 2013, running for over 2,500 performances until April 7, 2019. It earned 13 Tony Award nominations and won 6, including Best Musical and Best Score, making Lauper the first woman ever to win the category solo.

Across the Atlantic, the West End version ran from August 2015 to January 2019, collecting three Laurence Olivier Awards in 2016, including Best New Musical.
