Homografía, an independent international queer video and performance festival, is marking its 10th anniversary with a vibrant week of events from June 24 to 29, 2025. The festival will take place at several iconic venues across Brussels, including La Bellone, Grands Carmes, Beursschouwburg, Fabriek, and Cinéma Aventure, offering a rich program that celebrates queer creativity and fosters community connections.
A Decade of Queer Celebration
Founded in Mexico in 2015, Homografía has grown from a grassroots initiative into a major platform for queer artists and audiences. Since 2019, the festival has been based in Brussels, where it continues to be organized entirely by a dedicated team of volunteers. Over the years, Homografía has become a much-anticipated event, known for its inclusive spirit, artistic diversity, and commitment to accessibility.

Platform for Creativity and Exchange
Homografía provides a vital space for up-and-coming queer creators to showcase their work, connect with peers, and engage with audiences. The festival is celebrated as a facilitator of exchange and collaboration, offering a safe and welcoming environment for the LGBTQIA+ community. This year, the festival’s program centers on two key themes: HIV and the struggle, reflecting the ongoing challenges and resilience of queer communities worldwide.
Commitment to Accessibility and Inclusivity
At its core, Homografía is committed to accessibility, inclusivity, and artistic diversity. While the festival receives partial support from public institutions in Brussels, this funding is not sufficient to ensure its full independence or to provide fair remuneration for its volunteer team. Every donation helps keep ticket prices affordable, supports fair compensation for volunteers, enables the invitation of more artists and speakers, and ensures the continuation of high-quality, inclusive programming.
