Brussels has a way of nurturing artists who move between genres, languages and scenes, and Naya fits right into that landscape. Based in the city since 2020, the singer, musician and songwriter is preparing her first EP, a project rooted in jazz, neo-soul and French-language songwriting, and supported by an already-visible local following.
What makes Naya’s trajectory compelling is the way it feels both patient and deliberate. She has been singing since childhood, started accompanying herself on piano at 11, and only fully committed to her solo project after years of collective work, study and live experience in Brussels.

From Lyon to Brussels
Originally from Lyon, Naya arrived in Brussels to study sound, graduating in 2023 before deciding it was time to fully trust her artistic path. That transition matters: her story is not the classic overnight breakthrough, but a slower process of learning how to build a project, find collaborators and step into the work of being an artist.
In 2024, a residency in Namur helped push her toward a solo direction, but even then she kept the collaborative spirit at the center of the project by bringing musicians around her for the stage. That sense of shared energy is part of what gives her music its shape and identity.

A first EP in the making
Naya’s first single, “Comptine d’été”, was released in April 2026, and it gives a first clear glimpse of the world she is building: intimate, warm, French-language, and anchored in jazz and neo-soul textures. The EP is planned for autumn 2026, and she says she wants to free songs that have been “locked in her room” for too long.
The crowdfunding campaign reflects that ambition in practical terms. She is asking for €2,500, has already raised €1,121, and is inviting contributions from €1 upward through Ulule. The campaign page also makes clear that the money will help finance the recording and production of the EP, which is exactly the kind of support independent artists need to turn a strong idea into a finished record.

Her first EP looks like the kind of release that could travel well between intimate venues, radio, and the kind of audiences Ket loves to champion.
