Brussels’ Latin queer community has a new excuse to gather this weekend. On Sunday 3 May, Gays e Bi latinos are meeting at Yuca Latina on Rue de l’Enseignement 18 for an easygoing afternoon of conversation, connection and karaoke potential, with the first drink offered by the house.
The invitation is clear: come early, meet interesting people, and maybe sing a few songs if the mood goes that way. Starting at 16:00, the event leans into the kind of social format that is simple, welcoming and built around being together rather than performing a big night out.
A community-first gathering
What makes the event stand out is its tone. It is not being sold as a huge party, but as a friendly meeting point for gay and bi Latinos and their admirers, in one of Brussels’ best-known Latin-American restaurants. That makes the setting feel especially fitting: food, drinks and conversation in a space already rooted in hospitality and social warmth.
The venue itself, Yuca Latina, describes its concept as a Latin-American restaurant in central Brussels, with event space and regular programming already built into its identity. So this Sunday gathering fits neatly into a place that seems designed for exactly this kind of community event.
Why it matters
Brussels has no shortage of queer nightlife, but smaller daytime meetups like this are important too. They create room for people to talk, connect and show up without the pressure of a club setting. For Latino queer people in particular, that kind of specific space can make a city feel more navigable and more welcoming.
