“Reinventing Value: (Not) All Is Gold – Contemporary Art Exhibition at Cloud Seven, Brussels”

The new season at Cloud Seven opens with (Not) All Is Gold, an ambitious exhibition curated by Emmanuel Lambion for RendezVous – Brussels Art Week. Featuring works from Frédéric de Goldschmidt’s celebrated collection along with new commissions and special loans, the show gathers 53 international artists to examine the evolving concepts of value in contemporary art.

Exhibition Theme
(Not) All Is Gold draws its inspiration from the familiar saying “not all that glitters is gold,” reimagined to suggest that everything holds potential value. The exhibition presents a selection of works that embrace or subvert the precious or humble nature of their materials, comment on the art market and status of artists, and reveal economic strategies for survival. Special focus is given to pieces that integrate transactional themes, involving collectors and patrons directly, while also exploring otium liberale—liberal leisure—as resistance to economic constraints.

Featured Artists
Visitors will encounter pieces by notable artists such as Ignasi Aballí, Jacques André, Elena Bajo, Béatrice Balcou, Eva Barto, Alighiero Boetti, Kasper Bosmans, Cristina Garrido, Gabriel Kuri, Pierre Leguillon, Jonathan Monk, Sophie Nys, Andy Warhol, amongst many others. This rich roster reflects a wide range of practices and conceptual approaches, highlighting both emerging talents and historical figures.

  • Exhibition hours: Friday 5 – Sunday 7 September, 11:00 – 18:00
  • Golden Hour: Friday, 5 September, 18:00 – 20:00. Enjoy an arty sunset with cocktails, music, and guided conversations, part of RendezVous’ Downtown focus.

Guided conversations with mediators run throughout open hours, and a guest DJ will provide a sunset soundtrack to complement the experience.
