Brussels is already starting to sound like a giant queer choir. As Various Voices Brussels 2026 moves closer, the festival has kicked off its first open rehearsal at Bozar, where participants — no prior experience needed — are invited to learn the anthem “Let Your Heart Be Heard” together ahead of the big show at ING Arena on 27 June.
The next rehearsals are scheduled for 10 May and 7 June, making this one of the festival’s most accessible entry points for anyone who wants to sing, join in, or simply become part of the atmosphere.
Why it matters
Various Voices is not just a festival programme with big choirs and prestigious venues. It is a city-wide queer takeover built around connection, memory and collective voice, with concerts at places like Bozar, Cirque Royal, La Madeleine and the Brussels City Hall, plus street performances and other open-air moments.
The open rehearsals reflect that spirit perfectly: they turn spectators into participants and make the festival feel less like something to attend from a distance and more like something to physically enter.
